Early Sunday morning, February 9th, Nearly 200 members from MV Transportation, Inc. filled the Teamsters Local 848 Meeting Hall in Long Beach. Bus Drivers, Road Supervisors, Dispatchers, Mechanics, Maintenance Employees and Utility Workers who are employed at the Company’s LADOT North, Central and South Commuter Express and DASH yards came ready to hear the results of the anticipated “Grand Bargain”. The Union had worked diligently over the past few years utilizing professional and political allies to bargain an Agreement that would cover 10 bargaining Units at 3 locations. The end result was an overwhelming majority vote to accept the offer that for the first time in the history of the bargaining units unifies them under a single Contract expiration date. The package included wage and benefit increases that significantly improve the standard of living for our members and their families.
