On August 2, 2013, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued its ruling on the protests to the new Hours of Service rules that went into effect on July 1, 2013. The Court rejected both protests to the new regulations with the exception of the 8 hour rule before needing a 30 minute off duty time before restarting work but only for interstate short haul operations.
