On Sunday, April 7, the members at DPI Specialty Foods overwhelmingly ratified a new 2 year agreement by over 95%. The centerpiece of the agreement was a reduction for all members in their monthly out-of-pocket cost for health care coverage, with most members receiving over a 55% reduction. Also included were advances in bidding procedures, seniority rights, and warehouse inclusion in the PEER 84 program for early retirement. Even though the Company has had several years of very tough economic times, the negotiating committee held firm against the Company’s concessionary demands and came away with money back in the member’s pockets.
